Why Have We Changed Our Sunday Structure?

We believe that it is one of the responsibilities of the Church to help combat unhealthy societal norms. The Church does this by creating space for believers to step outside of the common culture for a time in order to assess how the Spirit is leading them to deepen their relationship with God and others. Some of the unhealthy societal norms we’re seeing are:

1) Isolation, a real lack of human connection

2) Chronic busyness

3) Avoiding times of quiet / reflection / meditation

4) A downward trend in Evangelism

5) A decrease in serving our neighbors and our community

Because of this, we believe it is important for New Beginnings Baptist Church to embrace a different Sunday structure. We firmly believe that it will be best for the church’s long-term health and create more opportunities for spiritual impact. This new structure change addresses the above societal norms & encourages people to come before and stick around after the service to:

(1, 2, & 5) - Invest more time into forming deeper relationships.

(2, 3, 4, & 5) - Develop impactful spiritual disciplines (encouragement, meditation, service).

(1 & 4) - Have discussions that “stir up one another to love / good works” and serve as an Evangelism prep.

Community Time -> 10:00am-10:30am

Service Time -> 10:30am-11:30am

Our response time following the service is our biggest change but also an important one that we believe will provide a valuable payoff akin to a spiritual investment!

While I don't expect every blog post to come from me (Pastor Nick), I look forward to using this space to give you insight into our church community and where God is taking us!

It can be hard to understand what a church culture is like from the outside, but we want to give you an accurate picture of what it is like and where God is leading us.

Maybe it'll make you curious to ask more questions about your faith journey or to consider seeing how you could partner with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to fulfill His mission!
