New Beginnings Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist church that likely peaked in the late 1980s-90s. While it still has excellent facilities that have been cared for and more recently updated, it is a now small congregation that has been doing things a very specific way for quite some time.
There have been some really challenging circumstances that have led to this: losing their previous pastor to a brain tumor in 2024 and a checkered leadership history. Those things have pushed this congregation toward decline, but something new is happening here.
The now small core of members and regulars (some newer and some established) are becoming more open to change and getting excited to see how God can use a heart for the Gospel to reach others. We've agreed that while a huge crowd doesn't always mean a church is healthy, that a healthy church of any size learns to be great stewards of whatever resources and however many people He sends them!
Are You Willing To Partner With Us In This Mission?
While our mission is a work in progress and is always subject to change, right now we want to:
We want to partner with God and other believers to reverse decline & revitalize New Beginnings Baptist Church.
There are some very practical ways that we are trying to accomplish this mission at this point:
1) Being a prayerful and obedient community of believers.
2) Raising up new humble servant leaders.
3) Stabilizing the congregation by bringing in some new families and young people who are passionate about serving the Church.
4) Partnering more closely with local ministries in Xenia.
5) Building and strengthening meaningful relationships within our church community.
6) Staying committed to pursuing outreach opportunities.
I hope that you'll consider giving us a visit, whether you're a committed Christian or you believe that our church community can help you answer some questions about your faith!
